Lab Facilities: Distributed Lab Spaces for the EdTech Center
In order to create new synergies, there are four physical lab facilities at different centers of TUM that are organizationally bundled and integrated under the umbrella of the TUM EdTech Center. Here, we can try out different learning scenarios, improve our tools and bring out research forward:
School of Social Sciences & Technology
The team of the TUM Center for Educational Technologies is based at the School of Social Sciences and Technology. Visit us here: Marsstr. 20-22, 80339 Munich
TUM EdTech Lab – Human-Centered Technologies for Learning by IT-Stiftung
Equipped with state-of-the-art VR/AR technology, powerful computational resources, and single-user eye-tracking technology, the TUM EdTech Lab – Human-Centered Technologies for Learning by IT-Stiftung enables the exploration and piloting of modern educational technologies and implications of AI in 21st century learning and teaching contexts. With a generous donation from the IT-Stiftung Esslingen, a cutting-edge EdTech Lab is currently under development at TUM. Marsstr. 20-22, 80339 Munich
TUM Digital Teaching and Learning Lab
The TUM Digital Teaching and Learning Lab (TUM-DigiLLab) is a newly established infrastructure for promoting digital skills in vocational and grammar teacher training. It consists of a digital teaching-learning space, a fully digitalized environment for the development, testing and research of innovative teaching-learning concepts and has an important interface function for advising and supporting researchers, lecturers and students. Marsstr. 20-22, 80335 Munich
ITüpferl – TUM Department of Informatics
ITüpferl is an interactive laboratory, a research workshop and a museum at the same time. It is open to visitors from the Faculty of Computer Science. Whether for alumnus, industry partners, scientists or students – in the research workshop we present modern computer science research and projects. Scientists from the Department of Computer Science work on cutting-edge topics and show you applications and demonstrations from their research projects. Boltzmannstr. 3, 85748 Garching
Medical Training Center (MTC)
At the Medical Training Center (MTC), medical students at the Technical University of Munich train essential skills and abilities for their future contact with patients in a realistic learning environment under professional supervision. Realistic models and modern patient simulators are used. All training scenarios are recorded using a modern audio-video system and then debriefed in detail by the trained instructors. The clinical staff at the MRI also make regular use of this opportunity. To ensure the quality of the courses and check their effectiveness, the course modules are regularly accompanied by research projects. Nigerstr. 3, 81675 Munich
