Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Medal to directors of the EdTech Center

On 5 December 2024, the two directors of the Center for Educational Technologies were awarded the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Medal at TUM’s dies academicus.

Prof. Dr. Enkelejda Kasneci and Prof. Dr Tina Seidel received the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Medal 2024 in recognition of their “outstanding research in the field of digital teaching and learning as well as their commitment to establishing the TUM Center for Educational Technologies.”

With the Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Medal, TUM honors personalities in recognition of their outstanding scientific, technical, or medical achievements, with which they have rendered exceptional services to the university as teachers and researchers.

About the namesake

The award is named after the pioneer of German neutron physics and one of the university’s most important scientists. Heinz Maier-Leibnitz developed the scientific and technical concept for the first German neutron source (“Atomic Egg”, 1957/58) in Garching.

The Heinz Maier-Leibnitz Medal has been awarded since 1997.
