Keywords:

Cultural Heritage, Extended-Reality (XR), Large Language Models (LLMs), Embodied Learning

Target group:

This project aims to support anyone interested in learning about and preserving intangible cultural heritage, regardless of their cultural background or geographical location. The project can collaborate with museums, local workshops, educational institutions, and heritage-skill experts to achieve its goals.

Vision:
Our project envisions a future where intangible cultural heritage (ICH) is safeguarded and preserved for future generations, inspiring creativity, innovation, and personal growth. Our vision inspires us to work towards the continuation of our shared cultural legacy, ensuring that it thrives and inspires present and future generations to celebrate and appreciate diverse cultural identities.

Mission:

Our project is dedicated to safeguarding and preserving intangible cultural heritage (ICH) through the use of cutting-edge technologies, including Extended-Reality (XR) and Large Language Models (LLMs) as conversational agents, to create accessible and engaging learning experiences. Our mission is to promote cross-cultural understanding and social cohesion by collaborating with museums, local workshops, educational institutions, and heritage-skill experts to deliver educational products and services that celebrate and appreciate diverse cultural identities. We strive to ensure that our shared cultural legacy continues to thrive for present and future generations.

Project outline:

Protecting cultural variety and human creativity, preserving and transmitting intangible cultural heritage (ICH) practices and knowledge is crucial. Innovative tools like large language models (LLMs) and virtual reality (VR) have been employed more and more to develop immersive learning environments that help spread knowledge. The main emphasis of this project is to construct a prototype VR and LLM-based learning environment that is used to educate students on a particular ICH practice or knowledge topic. The research for this project will look into how various design components, like gamification, interaction, and feedback, can be used to create immersive and engaging learning experiences that facilitate the transmission of ICH practices and knowledge.
