

The Clearing House Unterricht Academy aims to enhance the ability of teacher educators to
competently engage with scientific evidence. By fostering both understanding and confident
utilization of research, we seek to pave the way for evidence-based teacher education and
ultimately evidence-based teaching practices. The support services and training opportunities
we provide are designed to seamlessly integrate scientifically prepared content with practical
application.
Lecturers and seminar instructors in university teacher education and training, trainers at further education institutes, in-service teachers, student teacher trainees, and students of the teaching profession.
The Clearing House Unterricht sees itself as an interface between educational research and educational practice and is aimed toward teachers and teacher educators in all phases of teacher education. Our service offer includes current research findings prepared as short reviews, podcasts, explanatory videos, and digital self-learning courses.
Digital self-learning opportunities are provided for learners to use for teacher education, research, teaching, or their own professional development. The Clearing House Unterricht-Academy aims to empower teacher educators to deal competently with scientific evidence. Both understanding and confident implementation pave the way for the design of evidence-based teacher education and, in the long run, for the design of evidence-based teaching. The supportive offerings as course trainings interlock subject matter on the scientific research process with teaching practice.
Basic Course: From scientific experiments to the proper interpretation and classification of effects, this course provides a clear introduction to the basics and background of empirical educational research
Advanced Course on Research-Based Learning: Evidence-based information on this method.
Advanced Course on Evidence-Based Instructional Strategies: Evidence-based information and tips and tricks on the following instructional strategies: concept maps, self-explanation, writing-to-learn, peer assessment, critical thinking, flipped classroom, and homework.
Structured Self-Learning Opportunities (learning journey).
The Clearing House Unterricht is a sub-project of the Teach@TUM at the TUM School of Social Sciences and Technology and is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (German: BMBF) within the framework of the Quality Offensive for Teacher Education of the Federal and State Government of Germany. With this project, a clearing house in the educational sciences was established for the first time in Germany.
